Is it just me, or did I actually see fewer cars on the road this morning..? Has the sudden fuel price hike resulted in many Malaysians leaving their vehicles at home and actually using the public transport?

* * *

The petrol price hike (it's now RM2.70/litre at the pumps) was expected, but I think it caught everyone by surprise when the effect took place almost immediately. I think almost everyone was stuck in the really bad traffic crawl last night.
For me, what should've been a 30-minutes journey was stretched to about 1 1/2 hours! *sigh* Imagine the (cheaper) fuel I've consumed all those time I was not moving in the traffic jam. So much for saving up lah kan..

This morning, Abah said he thinks the price increase is reasonable. He also said "well maybe some people just have to change their lifestyle". Terus aku rasa panas je telinga kekekeke.. I asked him "what do you mean by changing lifestyle?". He said "I mean change the way you press your minyak pedal, don't go out so much with the car, if nak keluar gi kerja or KLCC go take LRT la.."

Pergh, tambah hangat!

I replied: "Well, if roads tak jam sure minyak boleh save lah kan. But not with the kind of traffic kat KL now ni, peak hours sure stuck dalam jem. And do you know how crammed the LRT is?"

Aiyak I know I sounded rude.. but.. hmmmmmmm..
Kang aku jadik anak derhaka lak kalau cakap banyak2 lagi. Immediately decided to leave for work, terus cakap "OK bye Bah!"

Hehehhe...

* * *

Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part; but was there really a significant reduction in traffic this morning?

And for many Malaysians resorting to public transport.. well maybe not yet, at least not for me. I'm still going to be driving my car to work and back home, until.. erm, until only time will tell :))

Yamm, I also said the same thing to Rafik this morning. I left Bunga Raya at about 7.40am coz I sent Raqib there with the maid, and reached Taman Desa at 8.00am. Way fast.. has people stopped driving their cars? I wish I can use the lrt. Tak kisahlah how crammy pun. Takper, next year when the office moves over to KL Sentral, I'll definitely used the lrt.
